Chief executive pleased with MEA's recovery

There's a vacancy for the top job at the Manx Electricity Authority.

Chief executive Ashton Lewis is to retire next autumn, after a 44 year career in the Island's electricity supply service.

Mr Lewis was project manager for the new power station at Pulrose and took over as chief executive after the ?120 million unauthorised loan affair came to light.

Over the past five years he's led the authority through the Tynwald-backed recovery plan to repay the loan.

Mr Lewis says progress has been good but any squeeze on finances could slow that down:
