Air passenger figures up last month

by isleofman.com 16th December 2009

Passenger numbers at Ronaldsway have gone up, for the first time in fifteen months outside TT.

Last month saw an increase of 2.4% over November 2008.

Airport Director Ann Reynolds believes that next year will see passenger growth.

She describes the figures as very reassuring, signifying the first return to positive year-on-year growth for some time and says the performance was ahead of predictions.

But she says she is under no illusion that recovery will be anything other than slow and steady.

The majority of the 17 routes showed growth over November 2008; Belfast City, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Jersey, Leeds and Newcastle, all of which had seen declines in recent months, were up, as was Liverpool for the fourth month in succession.
