Dick Welsh to open series of talks

by isleofman.com 21st December 2009

The director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry will be the first speaker in the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators' 2010 series of regular events.

Dick Welsh's talk - '25 years of growth and what it means for the Isle of Man' - is sponsored by Caledonian Trust (IOM) Limited.

He has held his present position since April 2006 and says the Island's ship register is not just a register for ships and yachts, but also a centre for excellence, where client focus is paramount, providing a high quality service, with significant cost savings over its competitors.

Mr Welsh says the expertise that exists on the Isle of Man, both in the registry team and the private sector, means that pragmatic and bespoke solutions can be provided for all requirements prior to registry.

There are currently over 1,000 vessels on the registry, from very large oil tankers and superyachts, to fishing boats and pleasure craft.

Mr Welsh's presentation will be on Thursday, January 14 in Cushag Suite 2 at the Hilton Hotel.
