Black Grace Cowley, chartered surveyors and estate agents, have welcomed Tim Groves to the company's Board of Directors.
Tim (pictured) has been with the firm since 2004 and works as a general practice surveyor alongside Mark Grace and Geoff Black in the agency’s commercial property division.
Tim, who has a BA (Hons) degree is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) after successfully completing a Postgraduate distance-learning course with the University of Reading.
He is also a registered estate agent and holds a CPEA (Certificate in Practice for Estate Agents).
Tim began his career in 2001 with Cowley Groves, of which his father Terry was a founder. He then spent a two-year period honing his management skills with a privately owned family investment and property company.
Tim’s varied remit within Black Grace Cowley includes commercial sales, lettings, valuations and rent reviews, as well as being responsible for Black Grace Cowley Property Management Limited.
Tim explains, "From our offices in Victoria Street, we administer, manage and look after a considerable portfolio of commercial premises to include large multi-tenanted office buildings, prime retail and industrial premises."
"The company looks after the interests of a number of private clients, landlords, and tenant occupiers; our functions include the administration and management of service charges, the collection of rent, maintenance and contractual issues, in fact everything related to the day to day functions of the properties."
Local Resilience a Cause for 'Cautious Optimism'
"To date, the Island’s property market continues to show a good degree of resilience, despite the economic pressures facing both the global and local economy. We are very busy at present," said Tim.
"We have been pleasantly surprised by the ongoing level of interest in the Isle of Man despite the well publicized external pressures our economy finds itself under.
"Investor interest is particularly strong, given the limited rewards offered at present by other investment channels. Obviously we, at Black Grace Cowley, are aware of these wider issues, but remain cautiously optimistic about the future."
Beyond work, Tim is married with a baby daughter and lives in Peel. His interests include squash, golf, hockey and mountain biking.
