Parcelforce Service Disrupted by Weather

by isleofman.com 7th January 2010

The exceptional weather is affecting mail services across the UK with heavy snow and ice making collections, deliveries and the movement of mail very difficult in many areas.

Royal Mail and Parcelforce are doing all they can to maintain mail services to customers and will continue to give priority to their timed services.

Unfortunately, the poor weather means that on-time next-day delivery of items in all areas of the UK cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, in order to provide customers with clear guidance, the Isle of Man Post Office is removing the Special Delivery™ and Parcelforce timed guarantee for items posted from today (Thursday 7th January).

"We will continue to accept and prioritise Special Delivery™ and Parcelforce mail and will restore the timed guarantee of delivery as soon as we can.

"Isle of Man Post Office would like to apologise to customers for this inconvenience which is outside of their control.  All local mail, including the local Special Delivery service is being delivered and collected as normal.

Customers with any queries can contact Isle of Man Post Office’s Customer Services Team on 664664.
