TLC Brings Safety Learning to Island

by isleofman.com 12th January 2010

TLC Business Solutions it to become the Isle of Man distributor for an innovative health and safety e-learning programme, Safety Learning.

Safety Learning was developed by Safety Media Limited, who are the UK’s leading provider of Health and Safety training.

Sue Gee (pictured), Managing Director of TLC Business Solutions, comments, "I am really excited about this addition to our portfolio for two key reasons.

Firstly, it means that we can offer our clients a wider range of training solutions and secondly, the Safety Learning training offers a risk-based approach to health and safety not offered by any other provider on Island.

"It is new, innovative and offers a bespoke approach to our client needs whilst being delivered on an electronic platform which means that it is extremely cost effective.

"Health and Safety training is a legal requirement for all companies, but in the current climate, our training needs to go much further than the legal minimum.  The safety learning packages do just that.

"Increased corporate governance requirements also mean that it is not enough to just have a record of training delivery; we also need to have evidence that staff are capable of putting the learning into practice into the workplace.

"The Safety Learning packages not only have up to date regulatory content, an individual assessment, certification and a full learning management system; the system also has a risk management assessment that will notify the appropriate people if someone has not successfully achieved in critical areas.

"This means that companies can reduce their risk by identifying the individuals who may need further training, coaching or some other input immediately.

"Of course, e-learning offers a range of other benefits: the convenience of 24/7 training, staff being able to train at their convenience, up-to-date content, and consistency of delivery regardless of location.

"There are over 40 courses available in 30 languages and the courses are provided in formats that are best suited to individual training preferences, making the learning extremely flexible from both a company and individual point of view.

"The courses can be customised to meet individual company policies or alternatively new courses can be developed which are specific to an individual company’s requirements."

'Flexible and individual, e-learning has come a long way'

Sue continues, "We reviewed a number of providers before joining up with Safety Media.   There was no other provider that offered such a flexible, individual approach to e-learning.  You have to see the product to actually realise just how far e-learning has come particularly with subjects like health and safety in mind.

"I am confident that this new addition to our portfolio is going to benefit both our new and existing customer base."

Julian Roberts, Managing Director of Safety Media comments, "TLC Business Solutions are an award-winning training company and we are really pleased to have appointed them as sole distributor for our Safety Learning modules on the Isle of Man.

"I am confident that Isle of Man companies and their staff will benefit tremendously from the support and professionalism that they will receive from TLC Business Solutions in undergoing our E-Learning Health and Safety programmes."

TLC will be launching Safety Learning on 4th February at their offices in Tromode with a number of demonstrations throughout the day.  Should you wish to attend a session, please contact Sue at TLC on 664789.
