A special conference held by Barclays Wealth has raised ?19,000 for its Charity of the Year, Wish Upon a Dream.
The Financial Crime Workshop was held at the Manx Museum lecture theatre in November 2009.
Approximately 120 compliance professionals attended the conference to hear a number of special guest speakers including, Helen Parry, Consultant Editor for Complinet; Peter Clucas, Director of Cains Advocates Limited; Paul Heckles, Head of Enforcement for the Financial Supervision Commission; Paul Spencer Lloyd, UK Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Barclays Wealth; and John Atherton from Barclays Wealth.
A number of topics were covered at the conference which ranged from market abuse and insider dealing to data privacy issues.
The cost to attend the conference was ?150 per person and all the proceeds from the event were donated to Wish Upon a Dream.
Barclays Wealth also made a donation to the charity which helps make the dreams of sick and terminally ill children on the Island come true. Altogether over ?19,000 was raised for the charity which adds to the ever mounting sum of money Barclays Wealth has raised for the charity this year which stands at over ?100,000.
