The Institute of Directors' Head of Taxation, Richard Baron is to make a fact-finding visit to the Isle of Man later this month during which he will also talk to local IoD members and other business leaders.
Richard Baron has worked as a tax professional for more than 25 years. From 1996 to 2002, he was Head of Taxation at the Institute of Directors and he returned to that role in 2005. He also spent three years working on corporation tax policy for the HM Revenue & Customs.
The visit, organised by the head of the of the Isle of Man branch Sally Bolton, is on the 25th and 26th February and creates an opportunity to introduce the IoD leadership to the tax systems of the Isle of Man.
Mr Baron will be meeting with a number of politicians and tax experts during the visit. He will also address local members at an IoD breakfast meeting held at the Hilton Hotel on Friday 26 February at 8.30 a.m (scheduled to finish by 10.00am).
These informal events are run more as a seminar than a lecture and provide good opportunity for questions and discussion. Mr Baron is expected to speak on Zero-10, the Foot Report with emphasis on economic risk and resilience, The Deloitte Appendix and the recent VAT agreement issues.
