Simon began his career as a junior reporter with the Isle of Man Examiner Group in 1979.  He spent fourteen years in broadcast journalism with Manx Radio, joining the station as Sports Editor, and rising to Head of News and Current Affairs before his return to print journalism in 1998.

Prior to joining Mannin Media, he spent a two-year period as Business Editor at Isle of Man Newspapers.  Simon has also written in a freelance capacity for a host of UK and international publications, including the Financial Times, and supplied material to ITV Border over two decades.

Simon lives in Laxey with his wife Noni.  The couple have a daughter, Hayley, who is a professional actress.

Commenting on his appointment to the Mannin Media Board, Managing Director Steve Brown said, "Simon was a natural addition to the Board at Mannin.  His skills are many and a testament to the success of our magazines.  I am really pleased, as are the other directors, to welcome Simon to the Board, and I’m certain that he will provide valuable input as the company grows."
