Staff at Royal London 360° have raised ?488 to help victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.
On Friday 29th January, staff baked and sold home-made cakes, and took part in a company-wide quiz which was won by Steve Storey in IT.
Money raised from dress-down Friday during the month of January has also been donated to the appeal.
Royal London Group, Royal London 360°’s parent company, is donating a further ?1,000 to the Haiti earthquake appeal.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, with the majority of the population living under the poverty line. It is estimated that up to 200,000 Haitians lost their lives in the earthquake; millions more have lost their homes and livelihoods. All charitable donations to the appeal are collected by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which supplies funding for aid organisations such as Oxfam.
Natalie Dutton, Head of Marketing at Royal London 360°, commented, "Money raised by Royal London 360° staff will go towards providing emergency food, water and medical supplies to victims. The pictures that we have seen in the media recently are heartbreaking, and so we are only too happy to support such a worthwhile cause."
