EU moves force business tax review

by isleofman.com 25th February 2010

The ever-tightening climate of economic regulation has forced the Isle of Man Government to launch yet another review of Manx business taxation.

With further European Union scrutiny of what it terms "harmful taxation practices", the current zero-ten system may have to be revised to stay in line with the EU Code of Conduct.

To that end a consultation has been launched by the Income Tax Division of the Treasury to gather information from businesses and individuals to ensure any changes adopted will not be damaging to the Isle of Man's economy and taxation base.

The consultation will last until Friday, May 28 and comments and opinions can be submitted to the office of the Assessor of Income Tax in any format.
