by isleofman.com 9th March 2010

Following the appointment of Mike Hodgson, Alex McNee and Paula Coates as directors of IOMA Solutions in January, IOMA group has announced the strategic appointment of two further directors, Craig Brown and Kevin Renshaw.

IOMA Solutions' services will be provided alongside the existing IOMA group offering, which spans the spectrum of structuring and planning disciplines:  life assurance, general and captive insurance, fiduciary and administration, funds, listing vehicles and investment management.

Craig Brown previously worked at Abacus as a Client Director with responsibility for a variety of bespoke fiduciary structures, the company’s Latin American business, the tax department, and yacht and aircraft services.

Craig is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and a Chartered Tax Advisor.  He also holds a Masters degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.

Craig initially qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen, thereafter spending many years as Head of Tax in a variety of industry roles.  His experience includes retail, FMCG, telecommunications and over 7 years experience within the global oilfield services sector.

Although experienced in many aspects of taxation, Craig’s main expertise is in international corporate structuring and cross border planning.

Kevin Renshaw spent the past 10 years with Abacus, most recently as Associate Tax Director, where he had responsibility as head of the tax department for advising a range of clients including high net worth individuals and corporates on the establishment and maintenance of offshore structures.

Kevin specialises in property structures, non domiciliary planning, tax efficient investment into UK assets and treaty planning through the Isle of Man’s growing network of Double Taxation Agreements.  In addition, Kevin continues to advise individuals, corporates and trustees on all aspects of Isle of Man taxation.

Previously, Kevin was a tax manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, dealing with a mixed portfolio of corporate and private clients.  He built up his expertise with the Isle of Man Income Tax Division where he specialised in the use of Isle of Man entities such as trusts, limited partnerships and LLC’s as part of international tax planning strategies.

As Managing Director at IOMA Solutions, Mike Hodgson, says, "All of us have worked very closely in the past and I am delighted that Kevin and Craig are able to join our new venture.

"We believe that our management team now offers an unrivalled breadth and depth of experience, and look forward to utilising this experience for the benefit of IOMA Group’s existing and future clients."

Commenting on the appointments, Nigel Wood, Managing Director of IOMA group said, "We are very pleased to welcome Kevin and Craig to IOMA Solutions and believe they will be a valuable addition to the existing team.

"They have joined us at the beginning of what we expect to be a dynamic period of development for IOMA group, and enhance what was already a very strong management team."
