Manx Telecom’s head of business development Tom Meageen attended the 3GSMA World Mobile Congress which was held in Barcelona.
The congress, held over four days, was an international gathering for the mobile communications industry and attended by senior representatives from the major telecoms companies.
"Attendance at the conference is vital to keep up to date with the latest technological developments and to network with representatives from the telecoms industry," said Mr Meageen.
Mr Meageen said that in previous years the World Mobile Congress had also proved important in generating new ideas and business opportunities for Manx Telecom and the Isle of Man.
"Our attendance at such events also offers opportunities to reinforce Manx Telecom’s position as a leader in innovation,’ he added.
The World Mobile Congress also played host to the 15th annual Global Mobile Awards which were presented by writer, actor, comedian and self-confessed technophile Stephen Fry.
The World Mobile Congress is organised by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association.
