Up to 20 hours a week of study on top of his job at Sure has earned Gavin Price an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Lancaster University.
Mr Price, Business Development Director at Sure in the Isle of Man, completed the two-year, part-time course in December last year, and was supported in part financially and with study leave by the company. He said that the qualification was put to use in his daily work.
"The course has given me a much broader understanding of management and the core areas of business. It has provided me with a toolkit that allows me to deal with most situations we face as a business," he said.
"Each module assignment is based on a specific organisational issue, which was productive and rewarding for Sure and me."
Over the two years of the course Mr Price studied 10-20 hours a week and at weekends. He said that it was well worth it.
"The rewards have been almost immediate as it has already helped me get to my current role in the company."
Mike Stanton, Country Manager of Sure Isle of Man, is delighted with Gavin’s achievement.
"We’re all extremely pleased for Gavin and appreciate how much hard work he has put in to earn this award.
"Staff development is important for any business with long-term plans and at Sure we are committed to helping our staff attain their professional goals and ongoing professional development."
