New Equipment Keeps IMS in the Lead

by isleofman.com 26th April 2010

Integrated Mailing Solutions (IMS), described as the Island’s "one-stop shop mailing house", has just just expanded the capacity of its day to day operation.

Located within Isle of Man Post Office’s headquarters in Douglas, IMS provides a range of services, including mail opening, printing, scanning and data capture, for a wide portfolio of public and private sector clients.

In response to a steadily rising demand for its colour printing services, IMS has now purchased two Xerox ColourQube printers, which will increase the company's printing capacity significantly.

A new C4 envelopment machine has also been purchased, which will revolutionise IMS' fulfilment service by enabling all types of mailings to be completed accurately and quicker than ever before.

Since its establishment in 1998, IMS has always prioritised quality, confidentiality and security.  In July 2009, the company achieved the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 accreditation guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity and security of all clients’ commercially sensitive information.

This was a milestone achievement for IMS, which became the first printing, scanning and mailing specialist on the Isle of Man and Channel Islands to achieve this high standard.

ISO 270001 accreditation also gave IMS the leading edge as many mailing houses possess only ISO/IEC 90001, which covers quality management systems but not the security accreditation which so many clients now consider as a prerequisite before deciding to outsource their work.

Alan Crowe, Chairman of Isle of Man Post Office, said, "IMS’s history is a fascinating one from starting out as a small mailroom to becoming the leading mail house in the Isle of Man and Channel Islands.

"As with any business, expertise builds and strengthens over time and this combined with innovative thinking and using the latest advances in technology, has led to us having a team that is second to none.

"In addition, Isle of Man Post Office has high levels of specialist expertise and resourcing which has developed from a wealth of experience built up over many years in the postal and mailing industry."

Russell Cowin, Acting General Manager of IMS, said, "Demand in all IMS services has grown as businesses become aware of the need to save costs and outsource aspects of their day-to-day work to us and this has led to IMS’s size and capacity more than doubling in recent times."

IMS has a dedicated website which promotes IMS globally as a trusted organisation in which to do business with on the Isle of Man.

Russell concluded, "This global awareness will continue to build IMS’s reputation and fly the flag for the Isle of Man’s strategy of Freedom to Flourish."
