Local bank Britannia International has been selected as winners of the Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) “Giving Something Back” award for corporate social responsibility.
The 43-strong team from the Island were selected from more than 12,000 CFS employees to receive the award. This forms part of an annual “Living Our Values” celebration, recognising staff who are seen as role models for the organisation and helping CFS achieve its vision of becoming the UK’s most admired financial services business.
Britannia International became a subsidiary of The Co-operative Bank plc following the merger of Britannia Building Society with CFS last year. The judging panel praised the Britannia International team for “ticking all the boxes” with particular recognition for their environmental impact reduction, energy saving, charity and Isle of Man community support.
Managing Director Mark Beresford said, “To have been selected as finalists was a fantastic achievement as it shows what it means to live our values and to bring them to life for our colleagues and customers. To win the award was the icing on the cake and I am extremely proud of the contribution everybody in the Isle of Man team has made. It’s great that colleagues have been recognised for all their hard work, dedication and commitment.”
