Sure awards for top Year 11 students

by isleofman.com 27th May 2010
SURE have awarded Year 11 students from various high schools around the Isle of Man with top-up vouchers to the value of ?1,250.

The Sure School Rewards scheme is in its third year and 2010 saw Year 11 students from Ballakermeen High School, St Ninians High School and Queen Elizabeth II receive Sure top-up vouchers for their great achievements at the various schools.

“We value being involved in education and feel that it is important to reward great achievement in the Island’s schools,” said Mike Stanton, Sure Country manager. “On behalf of the team at Sure, I would also like to take the opportunity to wish all Year 11 students the best of luck for their GCSE’s.”

Year 11 students have individual targets, directly set by the respective schools, which need to be achieved.  The Sure School Reward scheme, which started in 2007, is an additional incentive to motivate pupils to achieve their targets.

Headteacher of Ballakermeen High School, Mrs Burnett said, “We are very appreciative of the way that Sure has supported this existing scheme for three years now.  It is testament to their commitment to and involvement within the local community.”
