NETCETERA, one of Europe’s leading managed hosting and datacentre providers, has been licensed as an approved e-gaming disaster recovery provider by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.
The licence will enable Netcetera, based in Ballasalla, to provide e-gaming clients with disaster recovery facilities under the Island’s innovative legislation covering online gaming.
The Isle of Man provides a resilient and reliable environment in which to host and unlike other jurisdictions there are no license requirement or costs to base your disaster recovery servers in the Island.
With legislation in place that allows temporary operation under the terms of your home jurisdiction for up to 90 days, operators won't need to pay anything, even if the worst happens and they need to use their servers based in the Isle of Man.
CTO of Netcetera Tim Cass said: "One of the main attractions of the Island to e-gaming companies is the comfort offered by our resilient datacentre and network infrastructure.
"The speed and reliability of connectivity is difficult to find elsewhere and is resulting in a number of large companies basing their disaster recovery services on the Island.
"Coupled with the Island's naturally secure geographical location with very low natural environmental risks, along with its political and economic stability, makes the Isle of Man a perfect location for any e-gaming company considering its DR policy."
