New director of sales and marketing at Manx Telecom

by isleofman.com 7th July 2010

MARCUS Warren has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Manx Telecom.

This is the first high profile appointment to the company’s senior management team since its change of ownership, and signals a fresh impetus as the company begins to implement its new plans for growing both its on and off-Island business.

Prior to his appointment, Marcus Warren was global sales director of Mobile Tornado Plc, part of the InTechnology Group of companies, where he was responsible for the sales, marketing, and business development of the company’s innovative software solutions for mobile network operators and mobile service providers.

Prior to this Marcus helped to establish InTechnology’s managed voices services division, leading its significant growth.

He has more than 18 years’ experience in the telecoms industry, having held a variety of sales management and senior leadership positions in several leading companies.

Manx Telecom’s managing director Chris Hall said: "We had an unprecedented response when we advertised the position, and were overwhelmed by the sheer number and quality of the candidates; something which I can’t help feeling reflects both Manx Telecom’s reputation within the telecoms industry, and the attractiveness of the Isle of Man as a place to live and work.

"We are, indeed, fortunate to have secured Marcus’s services and are delighted to be able to attract such a high calibre director at this pivotal time in the company’s development.

"Not only does Marcus have a successful track record in what you might call the traditional fixed, mobile, and broadband side of the telecoms business, he has also hands on experience of the new cutting edge technologies which are going to be so important for the future.

"I’ve no doubt that he will be a great asset in helping us develop and grow new revenue streams, both on and off-Island, in the coming years."

Marcus said: "I'm delighted to be joining Chris and the team.

"Anyone working in telecoms is only too well aware of Manx Telecom’s reputation.  It really does punch above its weight and has an amazing track record in the development and roll out of new telecoms services.

"I hope I can play my part in helping it maintain and enhance that reputation. There’s never been a more exciting time in telecoms and Manx Telecom is perfectly positioned to help shape the future, delivering leading edge products and exceptional service to all its customers, both residential and business on and off Island."
