Manx Telecom customers get their hands on the iPhone4

by isleofman.com 26th July 2010

MANX Telecom customers who pre-registered for an iPhone4 have become the first in the Island to receive Apple's latest - and much-talked about - product.

The phone is now available at Manx Telecom shops but the company is advising customers to act quickly as they are going fast, with more stock arriving weekly.

Manager of retail operations at Manx Telecom Sarah Creighton said the iPhone4 was perfect for making the most of the thousands of apps now available.

She said: "You can not say enough about how amazing the apps are and many of them are free.

"There are really useful Isle of Man apps such as the Ronaldway app which is really useful for monitoring arrivals and departures."

There has been plenty of coverage in the media about an issue with the product's antenna.

Earlier this month Apple boss Steve Jobs offered iPhone4 owners a free case to help owners overcome a widely reported issue in which phone signal strength was drained when the phone was held in a certain way.

Apple will offer the free cases until September 30.

Mr Jobs also extended an offer to iPhone 4 users to give them a full refund within 30 days if they were still unhappy with the handset's performance.

Manx Telecom said if customers were concerned they could request the free cases or "bumpers" direct from Apple.
