CARLTON Freegard has been appointed managing director of Irish Nationwide (IoM) Ltd.

He has 25 years involvement in the international finance industry and before joining Irish Nationwide he worked for Close Wealth Management and Rea Brothers (Isle of Man) Limited.

Carlton said: "These are challenging times but we have a lot of plans to take the business forward.

"These include a computer system upgrade and the establishment of a new client relations team led by David Fulton. This will benefit our clients and further improve the customer focused environment we provide."

David Fulton, who was Irish Nationwide managing director in a caretaker capacity, has chosen to take up the post of head of client relations.

The client relations team will be more proactive in contacting clients and getting feedback from them.

David said: "This is a new post that I relish and is part of a larger reorganisation of resources within the business.

"My team will be the public face of Irish Nationwide (IOM) Ltd dealing with all aspects of client contact and service.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of developing the business and am ably supported by Ed Howland and Jane Roberts."

The creation of the client relations department is part of a broader restructuring of Irish Nationwide (IOM). The client relations team will be the one which customers are most aware of but other specialist departments have been created to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business.

There are now three more departments dealing with customer administration, corporate administration and compliance.
