by isleofman.com 2nd August 2010

POKERSTARS has a new CEO with the appointment of Gabi Campos who has left the gaming review and business-to-business company 888.com .

The father son team of Isai and Mark Scheinberg will still act as owner and chairman of the business. Campos will work out of the Puerto Rico office.

The new role for Campos doesn’t officially happen until October 4th of this year but he is already consulting for the company. Pokerstars.com - the world’s largest online poker site - has been around for a decade already and it intended that Campos can take the company forward into the next ten years.

The online gaming company is an Israeli based company with main offices on the Isle of Man in Onchan at the Skandia building and in Puerto Rico. Campos is Israeli and has worked in Israeli intelligence, an Israeli software company and as managing director of other Israeli companies. His strong intelligence and security background coupled with his ability to increase company growth can only benefit Pokerstars.

Pokerstars.com began officially on September 11, 2001 and accepted money bets in December of the same year. They were originally established in Costa Rica but moved to the Isle of Man after the zero corporate tax law was introduced which included the ability for Isle of Man companies to accept money gaming bets from the United States.

The online gaming giant has attracted numerous celebrity players including Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer and Daniel Negreanu. They ran the record breaking largest poker tournament in the world in December 2009 with over 149,000 entrants and an entry fee of just one dollar.
