Pokerstars gets Estonian Licence

by isleofman.com 26th August 2010

Manx-based PokerStars has won an activity license to offer services in Estonia.

The company is among the first to be granted a license in the country’s gambling market – until recently the Estonian Tax and Customs Board blocked access to foreign online poker sites.

PokerStars says it will now concentrate on getting an operational licence for the Baltic country.

The firm is the main sponsor of the Estonian National Volleyball team which made it to the final tournament of the European Championship.

But its website will remain inaccessible to Estonians until it is granted an operating license, which it says it hopes to do in the near future.
