Junior Chamber of Commerce appoint new executive council

THE Junior Chamber Commerce held its annual general meeting this morning (Tuesday) at the Claremont Hotel, Douglas.

 

The AGM saw new appointments on the executive committee.

 

Steve Burdett retired as president, being replaced by last year's chairman Richard Davies.  Alex Duffy has taken over as chairman for the forthcoming year.

 

The event coincided with an informative talk from local IT consultant Owen Cutajar on the use of social media in promoting business.

 

Benefits of the Junior Chamber of Commerce currently being utilised by more than 170 individual and corporate members include:

 

• Providing members with an opportunity to meet like-minded people from the professional world in the Isle of Man


• Identifying and addressing topical issues affecting members and the Isle of Man and  promoting their views and opinions


• Encouraging self-development through training, education and mutual support


• Being a valued part of the Island’s community by providing help and advice to our members

 

 

JCC's next event takes place on Wednesday, October 13 at 6pm at the Claremont Hotel, Douglas.

 

Tim Craine, e-business and space commerce director and Alex Downie MLC will present an update on the growing Manx Space Industry.
