by isleofman.com 19th October 2010

Minister for Economic Development Allan Bell says he is pleased with the the latest unemployment figures, which show a rate of 1.7 per cent on the Island.

Last month the jobless total fell by 23, leaving 748 people on the register at the start of October.

For every position at the job centre, there are two people registered as being without work, but Mr Bell says the figures are encouraging after a turbulent period in the economy.
