IN PICTURES - Sir Norman Wisdom's final journey

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2010

SIR Norman Wisdom has made his final journey along the Douglas Promenades.

The body of the Isle of Man's most famous resident travelled in a horse drawn carriage along the seafront just moments ago.

Thousands of well-wishers lined the route clapping as the comedy great passed by.

The weather managed to hold until Sir Norman reached St George's Church - where the funeral service is currently under way.

Norman Wisdom died on October 4 at Abbotswood Nursing Home in Ballasalla. He was 95.
