Ex-pats living off the Island make up more than half of the total Manx population, according to the World Bank.
The 2011 edition of the bank's annual Migration and Remittances Factbook shows 54.6 per cent of Manx people have taken the proverbial 'boat in the morning' and are now living abroad.
The figures, collated over the last year, put the Isle of Man in tenth place on a list of countries with high percentages of ex-pats.
The world average is three per cent, and top of the list are Qatar, Monaco, and the United Arab Emirates.
