Critics of a controversial and far-reaching criminal justice bill say they are delighted it will now receive the scrutiny it deserves.
It follows a House of Keys decision to allow a three-member committee to examine the proposed legislation.
A vote on the Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill in the House of Keys divided members 12-12, and Speaker Steve Rodan used his casting vote to send the matter for further consideration.
