A Manx High Court Judge will be the guest speaker at the fourth annual Caroline Weatherill Memorial Lecture this evening (Friday).
His Honour Sir Nigel Teare QC, a former Acting Deemster, will give a talk entitled 'The Advocate and The Deemster'.
Earlier this year, Sir Nigel sat on the Phil Woolas MP case when the shadow immigration minister was found guilty of deliberately making false statements about his LibDem election rival, and barred from parliament.
Coincidentally, an attempt by Mr Woolas to overturn the legal ruling which saw him lose his seat ended in failure today.
This evening's lecture takes place at 6.45pm in the Wedding Room of the General Registry in Douglas.
The lecture remembers Isle of Man advocate Caroline Weatherill who died tragically in 2006, shortly after giving birth to twin daughters.
