ILS appoint new head of compliance and legal

THE ILS Group Limited has appointed lawyer Martin Kelly as head of group compliance and legal.

 

Martin will oversee and develop the compliance functions throughout the group and provide legal advice and support to clients.

 

Based in the Island, Martin will work closely with the board of directors and head's of business in the British Virgin Islands, China, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Portugal, Switzerland and South America.

 

Karen Jones, director of fiduciary services, said: "We are delighted to welcome Martin to the ILS Group. This is an important appointment to ILS's senior management team and demonstrates our commitment to expanding the range of services we want to offer our clients as we move into the next phase of our business development.

 

"I am confident Martin will be a great asset to the group and to our clients as they face ever increasing complexities of operating a business in this day and age."

 

Prior to his appointment, Martin was a lawyer at Quinn Legal where he was responsible for heading up the corporate and commercial team. He was the company solicitor at Zurich International Life where he provided a wide range of advice on general commercial, finance, and regulatory matters all stemming from the day to day running of a complex life insurance company. 

 

Martin said: "I'm delighted to be joining the ILS Group. All businesses are looking for cost-effective ways to get the right advice to help them mitigate risks and avoid falling foul of the myriad of ever-changing laws and regulations.
