Island link with alleged bombing campaign

by isleofman.com 29th December 2010

The current address of a former Bishop of Sodor and Man was among information found in the possession of alleged terrorists.

Nine men have appeared before magistrates in the City of Westminster, charged with conspiracy to cause an explosion and make preparations for acts of terrorism.

During searches police found a list of landmarks, including the London Stock Exchange and Big Ben, along with the full postal addresses of Boris Johnson's London Mayoral Office, two rabbis and the Dean of St Paul's.

Graeme Knowles left the Island to take up the prestigious position at the famous cathedral in March 2007.

The men, who appeared in court on Monday, are alleged to have been planning a Christmas bombing campaign in London.

They were remanded in custody until January 14.
