SIMON Last-Sutton has been appointed managing director for the FPS group - part of the Ramsey based Charterhouse Group International.

He takes the helm of FPS Group as the industry heads into a year of transformation with the UK government implementing broad changes to tax rules and introducing the Agency Worker Regulations in line with EU directives.

Simon has held senior management roles in the UK, south-east Asia and in Europe. He was the chief executive of Cable and Wireless IOM Ltd and most recently was the operations director for 5050 Gaming Corporation.

Simon said: "For 15 years FPS has been the most trusted umbrella company in the recruitment sector - this trust continues to be the cornerstone of our business.

"I'm pleased to take on this role as FPS takes the lead in innovating new products and services to meet the changing needs of freelancers, contractors and temporary workers."

David Dean, FPS Group chairman, said: "2011 will be one of incredible transformation for the umbrella company sector and Simon’s agile and energetic management style will be essential in helping us to navigate change successfully. We are happy to welcome him aboard."
