Lloyds offers free new year financial health check

by isleofman.com 20th January 2011

LLOYDS TSB has today launched a New Year Financial Resolutions campaign, offering support to all Isle of Man residents wishing to get their finances in order for the start of the New Year.

A survey carried out in November 2010 by Lloyds TSB of Isle of Man residents found that whilst 73% of respondents have opened a savings account in preparation for the future of their family’s finances, a worrying 20% have done very little to plan for their futures.

The campaign, designed to promote better financial management for 2011 and encourage everyone to make a fresh start, provides all Isle of Man residents with the opportunity to visit their local Lloyds TSB branch for a free financial health check, and cement their resolutions regarding better financial planning for the year ahead.

The campaign also includes the introduction of a new personal loan offer, aimed at helping people to recognise the potential in streamlining their finances in 2011. Different interest rates are available to all Lloyds TSB customers, depending on which account they hold and how much they would like to borrow.

“At the start of another year, many of us will find ourselves making New Year’s resolutions in the hope of making a change for the year ahead,” said Lucy Felton, business development manager at Lloyds TSB in the Isle of Man.

“A common resolution is to improve financial planning; a pledge which many make with the best intentions, but that can be hard to put into motion.”

Without knowing the available options, effective planning becomes extremely difficult. The free financial health check will help Isle of Man residents find out exactly which areas they need to focus on, whilst the personal loan offer will help them to reorganise their finances, setting them on the right path for 2011 and beyond.”
