DIRECT marketer Andy Owen will give a seminar hosted by Isle of Man Post Office next month.
The free event takes place at noon on February 1 at the Broadway Cinema, Douglas, inside the Villa Marina.
Andy has worked in the direct marketing business for more than 28 years.
As well as running a busy direct marketing agency with clients worldwide, he presents conferences, seminars, workshops and training sessions on most aspects of contemporary direct marketing all over the world and regularly travels more than 100,000 miles every year sharing his wisdom and knowledge.
Andy’s lively, passionate and hugely entertaining presentations are always very well received by delegates and show organisers alike.
Understanding the power of words and pictures and how to use them correctly is key to direct marketing success whether it be an advert, letter, email or website page and Andy firmly believes copy and creative techniques used well ensure campaign messages are always delivered effectively.
Direct marketing is a marketing tool comprising of activities such as direct mail, telemarketing, mail order, direct response, advertising and email marketing.
Andy said he is looking forward to his first trip to the Island.
He said: "It's great to be able to share a passion – and I have that for direct marketing – and direct mail in particular.
"Contrary to the things you read, direct mail is now storming back into marketer's thinking, because of its effectiveness when compared to the disaster that is now email.
"Marketers are now turning to the grand old lady of direct marketing in a significant way because it's delivering stunning results. In my fast-paced session, you will see why and get the latest info on what's really happening out in the marketplace.
"I'll be sharing some of the secrets of how to create and write direct mail packs that deliver results."
Lisa Duckworth, commercial director of Isle of Man Post Office, said: "We are delighted to have Andy coming over to present what I know will be an empowering seminar and will give many local business people useful tips on how to get a better return from their marketing campaigns.
"The seminar is open to any business professional and would particularly benefit marketers.
"The power of direct mail is undeniable even in our fast moving digital world," Lisa added.
The seminar will finish at 2.15pm. Lunch is included and attendees will receive two Certificate of Personal Development points.
Anyone who wants to attend should contact Katharina Stewart at Isle of Man Post Office on 698510 no later than this Thursday (January 27).
