PARTICIPANTS in the 2010 Manx Executive Challenge received their Chartered Management Institute level 7 Certificates in Management recently.
The presentation took place at the first of a new series of events organised by the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Management when branch chairman Craig Allen welcomed an audience of members and students to a lecture event at the Claremont Hotel, Douglas.
The guest speaker was well known businessman Jon McGowan who gave the audience an insight into his own management style, as he saw it.
Covering some of the highs and lows so far in his own career Jon demonstrated the importance of clear strategic thinking in managing a business.
His talk included many anecdotal recollections and was very warmly received by the audience.
Jon is also the president of the local branch and following his talk he presented the CMI Level 7 Certificates in Management to participants in the Manx Executive Challenge 2010.
For the first time in the running of this scheme a set programme of management training had been introduced and run by the International Business School, resulting in these awards.
While the scheme always provides a tremendous and unique experience for participants, the award of these certificates was a very welcomed tangible added value for both the participants and the business who sponsored them.
Introducing the recipients Craig Allen made it clear that the branch was extremely pleased to award these certificates on behalf of the institute and congratulated all who had taken part.
Recipients of the certificates: Left to right; Robert Arthurs, John Rispin, Andrew Quirk, Helen Ashcroft, Simon Jones, Tim Shearman, Gemma Davies, Ty Smith, Rachel Lee and Neil Smith
