CIVETS warning at annual gathering

The minister for economic development has issued a warning about rushing into business opportunities in some developing countries.

The countries concerned are Columbia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey and South Africa, known collectively as CIVETS.

At the annual State of the Nation meeting at Mount Murray yesterday (Wednesday), Allan Bell said it was vital research was carried out before any decisions were rushed into (play audio file):

The acronym CIVETS comes from the initial letters of the six nations.
