Czechs preparing tax agreement

by isleofman.com 4th February 2011

The Czech Republic could be the next country to sign an information sharing agreement with the Isle of Man.

According to the country's finance ministry, in the next few days it will release the first of two proposals with authorities in the Isle of Man and Guernsey.

The central European country says it's trying to limit tax evasion by Czech-based taxpayers, including companies, banks and individuals.

Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek says it's a big step in the fight against tax evasion and should have a positive effect on the country's budget.
