Topshop and Topman confirmed for Woolworths building

by isleofman.com 7th February 2011

IT has been confirmed that Topshop and Topman will be moving into the former Woolworths building in Strand Street, Douglas.

A spokesperson for the Arcadia Group, which owns both stores, told isleofman.com today that both Topshop and Topman will leave their current site on Duke Street in "early September".

The former Woolworths building has been empty since it closed on December 29, 2008, after the shop went into liquidation.

The building is owned by K/S Habro who purchased it in 2005. K/S Habro had plans approved on January 21, this year, to make alterations to the store including making changes to the existing lift shaft, forming new double delivery doors and creating a bin store and a new internal staircase.

Rumours have circulated that Miss Selfridge, which is also part of the Arcadia Group, would also be moving into the store. Isleofman.com has approached Miss Selfridge for clarification on this matter.
