SMP Partners has announced the appointment of a new group director.
David Hudson has been promoted on to the board of the company and will be responsible for the group's business development.
David said: "SMP Partners is a unique business characterised by a team of exceptionally knowledgeable professionals who work together to deliver a comprehensive and professional service to a diverse, international client base.
"I am extremely excited and enthused about being invited to join the group board and look forward to working closely with the executive team to build on the company’s successes and to take it forward with new service offerings and entry into new emerging markets."
David has been with the company since 2005. During his time he has been responsible for business development activities primarily in new sectors and new geographical markets. Most recently he has led the company into the e-gaming sector.
Steve McGowan, chairman of the SMP Group, said: "This is a significant appointment for our group and David will be a valuable addition to our executive team.
"Over the last six years David has made a significant contribution to our business. Since our management buy out three years ago he has played a key role in the development and promotion of the SMP Partners' brand both in the Island and further afield and in the creation of new markets and revenue streams.
"The drive into e-gaming has been a remarkable success for our business and the development of similar niche areas of capability will be an important part of David's role going forward.
"In these uncertain times it is important for our group that we continue to look further afield than our traditional markets and to diversify our revenue streams and geographic footprint.
"As an independently owned business we are well placed to flex and change as markets and economic times dictate and to move quickly when opportunities present themselves."
