A FLYBE flight from Manchester to the Isle of Man had to turn back shortly after take off after the smoke alarm in the toilet was triggered.
Flybe said the flight, which took off at 8.50am today (Friday), returned to Manchester Airport as a precautionary measure and landed normally.
A statement from the airline said: "As is standard industry practice the airport declared a full emergency in dealing with the landing."
It said the 20 passengers and four crew disembarked the aircraft normally and were transported to the Isle of Man on the next available flight, at 10.20am.
It added: "Flybe regrets any inconvenience experienced as a result of the above incident but the safety of its passengers and crew is the airline's number one priority."
