THE equity strategist director of Barclays Wealth will be the guest speaker at an event on international accounting standards.
Henk Potts will speak at an educational event for those working in captive insurance, non-executive directors and those with an interest in this field, on May 5.
The event is being organised by the Isle of Man Captive Association and supported by Barclays Wealth and KPMG.
Henk will be joined by Peter Fox, a senior manager at KPMG, who works within the non-life actuarial consulting team. Peter has lectured on a wide range of actuarial subjects including property and casualty markets for direct writers and reinsurers.
Simon Nicholas, a local insurance captive co-ordinator for KPMG, will also be on the panel. He leads all non-life insurance engagements including captive audits.
Gaynor Brough, chair of the Isle of Man Captive Association, said: "It is important in a fast moving competitive market that the Isle of Man maintains its position as a centre of excellence for the formation of captive insurance companies.
"The Isle of Man Captive Association is committed to maintaining the knowledge base necessary to do this. The association is grateful to Barclays Wealth and KPMG for their support in the arranging of this event."
The event will last for half a day and a buffet lunch will be provided. There is no charge for attending. For more details contact Jennifer Trevelyan by telephoning 01624 692400 or by e-mail - jennifer.trevelyan@aon.co.im.
