RBS International appoint new island director

THE RBS International group has appointed Bill Shimmins as its new island director for the Isle of Man.

 

Bill will also take on the role as managing director of the Isle of Man Bank Limited and head of corporate banking in the Island.

 

He will take responsibility for all operations across RBS International and Isle of Man Bank and succeeds Victoria McEneaney who has moved to a new strategic role for the group, based in Jersey.

 

Bill will also join the bank's Executive Committee Offshore (ECO) as the Isle of Man representative.

 

Adrian Gill, chief executive of the RBS International group, said: "Bill has accumulated a wealth of experience in a number of different roles within the financial services industry over his extensive career.

 

"With his knowledge and insights into the Isle of Man market, he is undoubtedly an excellent choice to head up our operation locally and to continue building the business."

 

Bill has worked for the Bank since 2006 and has nearly 30 years' experience in financial services. He worked in the London for a substantial period and has undertaken a number of senior management roles in the UK and in the Isle of Man. Most recently he was head of mortgages with responsibility across Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar.
