ABACUS Financial Services Limited has promoted two staff to the position of associate director.

Martin Heaney and Sandra McAuliffe have been promoted to reflect their ongoing contribution and commitment to the business.

Martin joined Abacus in 1997 as treasury supervisor, where he was initially responsible for the group’s treasury and payment functions.

Over the last 14 years Martin has gained a wide range of industry experience across all areas of the business.

Sandra joined Abacus in November 2010 as business development manager with a clear remit to develop the company’s business development strategy and grow the business.

Her wealth of experience in both establishing and operating investment fund structures has proven to be invaluable to Abacus in developing the company's growth strategy.

Paul Kneen, managing director at Abacus Financial Services Limited, said: "I am delighted to announce these promotions which are well deserved and fully reflect confidence in both Martin and Sandra who have demonstrated the drive and determination to support the business going forward.

"Having senior staff with such a wide and complimentary range of skills ensures our services remain of the highest calibre to the benefit of all new and existing clients."

Commenting on his promotion Martin said: "The past 12 months have seen some very positive developments for Abacus including the establishment of a Malta office which is already providing excellent opportunities for growth.

"I'm looking forward to the new challenges of my role and playing a part in the company's continued development and future growth."

Sandra added: "Following the global economic crisis confidence is slowly returning and we are looking forward to playing a part in the recovery.

"I have enjoyed working with the board to develop our future business strategy. We have a clear focus on where we want to be and I am delighted to be playing a part and being part of such a strong management team."
