B&Q recalls faulty Blooma garden chairs

by isleofman.com 25th May 2011

THE Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has issued a safety warning and has a recall on a specific range of Blooma garden chairs sold on the Island by B&Q.

The two styles of chair affected are Blooma moon chair (barcode: 05292387) in red, green and polka dot and the Blooma picnic chair (barcode: 05292547) in green, red and fun stripe.

B&Q have advised that a small number of these chairs are failing in use and has taken the decision to recall them.

In a statement issued today, the OFT said, “If you have purchased either of these products between the above dates, then please stop using them immediately and urgently contact the helpline 0800 389 0419 or return it to your local store where a full purchase price refund will be given.”

Anyone needing more information to help identify if the product is asked to call the B&Q helpline on 0800 389 0419 (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 8.00pm, Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm).

The OFT statement added, “The Office of Fair Trading supports the responsible precautionary measure taken by B&Q to recall these items and is pleased to be able to provide this information to local consumers.

“Please note that only the products mentioned are at risk. All other garden furniture sold by B&Q is unaffected.”
