MOTORISTS and residents face 19 weeks' worth of roadworks in Glencrutchery Road, Douglas.
The refurbishment work, which will extend from the entrance road to Police Headquarters at Dukes Avenue up to and including the roundabout at the top of Victoria Road, will begin on Monday (November 14).
The work will include the reconstruction of pavements followed by slab stabilisation and resurfacing of the road.
The slab stabilisation work will be carried out by a specialist company throughout the evenings, from 8pm to 6am, for approximately two weeks, starting on November 21.
A statement by the department said: "The works are programmed to take 19 weeks and will be carried out mainly using traffic signals so that one lane will be kept open to traffic.
"A weekend road closure will be in place towards the end of the scheme to resurface the roundabout.
"Access to the side roads along the stretch of the works will be maintained at all times, although a few residential/facilities' entrances may be blocked for limited amounts of time whilst kerbing and resurfacing works take place.
"In this eventuality the department will endeavour to advise accordingly nearer the time.
"The department would like to thank the public and local organisations in advance for their patience and co-operation."
Anyone with any queries regarding the work should phone 850000.
