Mark Cavendish stars in new cycling DVDs

by isleofman.com 5th December 2011

CYCLING legend Mark Cavendish has joined other top Manx cyclists for a series of training DVDs.

The 2011 World Road Race Champion and current Tour De France Green Jersey holder features on Training With the Manx alongside Peter and Tim Kennaugh, Jonny Bellis, Mark Christian, Chris Whorral and Chris Nicholson.

Other members of the Manx cycling community are also featured including ex pro racer Steve Joughin.

The five DVD series of films are designed to improve peak fitness.

Cycling coach Peter Kennaugh (Senior), whose sons Tim and Peter are both professional cyclists and feature in the DVD, said:

"The project has brought the entire cycling community together on the island and as well as the technical side we have tried to capture the humour and the banter.

"We do have the big names but the whole cycling community, of all ages, were invited to take part because it's a community thing and we all got something out of this project."

With many of the Island's leading cyclists living all over Europe it was a challenge to get them in one place.

Peter said: "We picked a window when we thought the stars would all be home and everyone turned up, which was fantastic.

"When all the pros are back on the Island they still train with the local riders. There are no superstars here, just good pals and it was great to get everyone together for the project."

The DVDs are available from Eurocycles and Bikestyle in Douglas and via www.3lc.tv or Amazon.co.uk
