Variety of questions for House of Keys sitting

by isleofman.com 5th December 2011

A TOTAL of 27 questions have been tabled for tomorrow's (Tuesday) sitting of the House of Keys.

There are 20 for oral answer and seven for written answer.

A number of subjects will be covered including the 2009 Town and Village Regeneration scheme, the reserve capital portfolio, the government's five-year rebalancing plan and the Island's Standard and Poors rating.

There are also questions on the sexual health strategy, Sarah's Law, staff shortages at residential homes and issues surrounding the TT, among others.

All the questions for written answer have been tabled by two members of the Liberal Vannin Party - Zac Hall and Kate Beecroft.

Onchan MHK Mr Hall wants to know how much the Treasury Department spent on legal aid in each year between 2000-2001 and 2010-2011 on criminal cases and civil and family cases.

He also wants to know how much the Department of Health spent on NHS hospital food in each of the last three years and how much the prison service spent on food in each of the last three years.

Douglas South MHK Mrs Beecroft has tabled questions relating to the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) order 2005.

She also wants to know whether the planning and building control division has used external consultants for the fiscal year 2010-2011 and the six months to September 2011 and, if so, how many, how long for, what they were paid and whether any of them were former employees of any government department.
