Road Closures - Glencrutchery Road / Victoria Road Sat 17 - Mon 19 March

by isleofman.com 16th March 2012

As part of the refurbishment work on Glencrutchery Road, Douglas, the Department of Infrastructure advises that resurfacing work will commence on Glencrutchery Road / Victoria Road roundabout during the weekend of 17th and 18th March 2012.

Due to the physical constraints, the resurfacing will necessitate a road closure of the Victoria Road / Glencrutchery Road roundabout and of Glencrutchery Road as far as Dukes Avenue (Police HQ access road).  The road closure will come into force at 8.00am on Saturday morning and the road will remain closed until 6.00am on Monday 19th March.  There will be no vehicular access from Victoria Road onto Glencrutchery Road or from Governors Road onto Glencrutchery Road or Victoria Road during the period of the closure.

Vehicular access to properties within the closure will be restricted, however, pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Access to properties off Glencrutchery Road will only be available from the Grandstand end of the closure with access to properties on upper Victoria Road via lower Victoria Road. Unfortunately, vehicular access to properties on Hillberry Green and Third Avenue will be severely limited during working hours (between 9am and 6pm daily).  All businesses on Glencrutchery Road and Victoria Road will remain open as usual, with diversions clearly signed.

Footway works and the completion of the resurfacing will continue after this closure on Glencrutchery Road with all remaining works being carried out under temporary traffic lights.

The Department would like to thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation.  If you have any queries regarding the work, please phone 850000.
