A new style of Bus/Rail photo pass for the over 60s is currently being issued for Island residents.
Persons with surnames beginning A to F may apply now if they are not already in possession of the new style pass (issued after August 2011).
Residents in this category holding a current pass must renew this by the 31st May 2012.
Persons with surnames beginning G onwards will be informed of their pass renewal dates in due course. Current passes will continue to be valid until further notice.
This new pass will be valid for five years and entitle the holder to the same concessionary benefits as before. These benefits are:
- Free Travel on scheduled Bus Vannin services after 09:00 Mondays to Fridays and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public/Bank Holidays.
- Half fare travel on Bus Vannin services up to 09:00 Mondays to Fridays.
- Limited concessions on Friday and Saturday Night Owl ‘Hullad Oie’ services.
- Free travel on scheduled services of the Isle of Man Steam Railway.
- Free travel on scheduled services of the Manx Electric Railway.
- Free travel on scheduled services of the Snaefell Mountain Railway.
Failure to carry a valid pass may result in its withdrawal and the passenger being required to pay the appropriate fare.
Application forms are available from Ramsey and Port Erin Bus Depot offices and the Welcome Centre or online at www.iombusandrail.info.
Photo ID cards can be issued by the Isle of Man Welcome Centre at the sea terminal between 10.00 and 16.00 Monday to Friday.
