Kirk Michael residents are to lose their branch of Isle of Man Bank.
In a short announcement managing director Bill Shimmins confirms the sub-branch will close on August 10th.
He says the number of customers using the Kirk Michael branch has fallen, as more people use online or telephone banking, adding the decision to close a branch is not taken lightly.
Mr Shimmins says no-one's been made redundant as a result of the closure and a full banking service will continue in Peel and Ramsey.
The stone-built branch is a landmark on the main road through the village, and its closure marks the end of an era for the high street.
